Flower Fairies of the Summer was Cicely Mary Barker’s second book, published in 1925. All the flowers featured in the collection are wild flowers, once commonly found in English hedgerows, banks and fields. Today some of them are hard to find, but others – like creeping Convolvulus or handsome Sorrel – are, fortunately, still plentiful, while sunny Buttercup seems to pop up everywhere!
